What You Mean To Me – Poem Contest

Last night I was listening to Teddy Pendergrass and reminiscing about my mother. It was the “you never know what you had until its gone” type of feeling. I can remember fantasizing about being independent and having my own place, being able to do what I wanted, when I wanted. But I would give anything in the world to have her here with me now giving me orders.

Mothers Day is around the corner, and whether your mother is physically with you or with you in spirit. Be sure and take the time to let her know how much you care. If your out of work or not, remember that its not the material things or your financial status that brightens her day, its your time spent with her that puts the smile on her face.

In honor of Mothers Day, Dwayne Hills Photography is holding a poetry contest. The title of the poem should be “What You Mean To Me”. You don’t have to be a writer, but in your own words express what your mother means to you.

The winner will receive an exclusive photo session for your mother and a custom mounted 16×20 print.

email your entry to contest@dhillsphotography.com
deadline for entries will be Friday May 8, 2009

Winner will be announced on FaceBook Sunday May 10, 2009

Entrants should be Austin area residents, or someone who can provide their own transportation to and from the photo session. The photo session only includes the photographing of one person. The winning print will be delivered within 2-3 weeks from photo session date. Shipping charges may apply if necessary.

Nawlins Bound

Headed to Nawlins for my grandmothers 85th birthday. Hoping to capture some creative architecture images while I’m there. One things for sure is that I am not looking forward to that eight hour drive.
