Inspiration works hand in hand with motivation, Once your inspired you must be motivated to bring your thoughts to life.
Inspiration comes from all aspects of your day, your life. When your standing in line for gelato or pushing your shopping cart through the market. The sounds you hear, the colors, shapes, and textures you see, all inspire the artist in you.
Don’t take one moment for granite. A point and shoot camera is an easy way to take digital notes through out the day. If you see something interesting document it by taking a snap shot and catalog it for later use. Take shots of textures: wood, metal, stucco, concrete, tree bark, old cracking paint, old stickers, graffiti. File these away to include in composites you create later.
Many of us have an inner creative inside, waiting to be released. But sometimes life, family, or work gets in the way. Stop the clock if you must, take the time to breathe and enjoy some of the things that interest you. Again if you have to go to the market to pick up a few things, don’t look at it as a honey to do list, turn that trip into a photo hunt. Pick an item or even a color and use your point and shoot and take snaps of them on your way there.
I did a personal project of photographing the number three, so at the gas station if the gas was $1.83 I would zoom in on the three and take the picture. House numbers, signs, anywhere I saw three I captured it. Try it and get your creative juices flowing.
